| Customer Reviews: Great motorcycle chain! January 18, 2009 Longrifle (New Orleans, LA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent construction that keeps out the weather, spray a little WD-40 in the keyhole and bolt if you use it outdoors.
Wow - Big and Strong April 10, 2010 Barry C. Collyer Nice lock. If someone can break this lock they deserve the item they are after!!!
Good solid lock June 9, 2010 E. Hanley This lock fits great around the swing arm and through the spokes of my rear wheel on my motorcycle. The protective covering keeps the wheel from getting scratched up. The lock seems pretty sturdy. Gave it a 4 out of 5 because i haven't really abused it that much as far as durability or theft protection. But it's definitely a solid deterrant! I'd definitely recommend this item.
Faux cable lock May 17, 2010 D. Lee (Florida) I selected this cable lock for my new scooter based on positive reviews.
Postive comments: The lock is lightwight, easy to coil and stow. The keyhole is protected with a little sliding plastic cover to keep dirt out. Product includes a set of three keys.
Negative comments: This is light duty 1/4" cable inside a hollow sleeve made to look like 1" braided steel. It's meant to fool potential thieves. It probably works most of the time except that on mine the plastic and metal mesh sleeve has already separated from the lock portion exposing the thin cable beneath. The key entry occassionally requires some jiggling to get the key all the way in.
Overall: It's probably worth the money I paid ($20+) and it serves as a back-up lock for my scooter. However, if you have something valuable that someone might want to steal, I wouldn't recommend as the primary lock.
Maybe good, but diffinitely not good enough July 16, 2009 Ome 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Hello,
After my first motorcycle was stolen, I thought that I was not cautioned enough. I should have used more locks. So for the second motorcycle, I bought a bunch of locks. However, about three weeks ago, it was stolen as well. It was chained to something using this cable lock, and the thieves just cut through. It was a clean cut. Also, I realized, that there is a gap b/w the outer layer of thin cables and the inner string kind of cable.
Anyway, either the thieves were really good, or this cable was not good enough.
