| Customer Reviews: Use this filter. August 5, 2008 Jeff Kraus (Orlando, FL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Of course, you have the K&N name. Honestly, it's not like I can tell if the K&N oil filter filters oil better than another oil filter. But get this one any, if for no other reason than the fact that there's a hex protrusion on the end so you can remove it with a socket wrench when it's time to change.
I had a Fram on there before, and it was fine. But when it came time to take it off, I tried using an oil filter wrench, which just slipped constantly and the filter never budged (I think something had hit the filter at some point as there was a small dent on it, which probably caused the slippage). Then I pulled out the strap wrench, which BROKE before I could get the filter off. That's right, I broke the strap on a strap wrench!
With the K&N's, it's a simple matter of breaking out the socket wrench. So easy. It's worth a couple extra bucks just for that.
Look around though, if the price seems high. I paid about $7.50 for mine at a local bike shop.
Convenience is worth it. June 11, 2010 FileNotFound (KoP, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The convenience of being able to simply remove the filter with a wrench is worth the price difference.
I cannot vouch for how good or bad the filter is, my oil color has not changed when switched from Fram to K&N.

K&N oil filters are highly rated and dependable. The selling point for me was the welded nut on the end making for easier installation and removal...especially in tight quarters.
K&N is awesome December 5, 2009 Edward A. Mccormack (NH) Whether or not you buy into the K&N hype,.. you might want to consider the K&N for the simple reason the filters have a bolthead on the end of them so you don't need a stupid oil filter wrench in order to replace it. Simply use a socket. I can't say enough about that feature. Of course you get a great filter as well... I use K&N air filters as well... I'm a big fan of that company as the products are superior.
